Ominous Sign of Things to Come?
Found on the Second Life Herald, tonight, is the opinion/editorial of d3adlyc0d3c, who (from what I can see) is described only as an “ex-griefer”). The article is only a pinch of the many things that I’ve been seeing come in (and they’re coming in a lot faster, lately) for the different keywords that I’ve set up on news fetching services.
He hits home on a major trend that seems to be blanketing the residents of Second Life, lately. Many of the loyal users are “finally” starting to see what the SL doomsday prophets have been saying, all along.
“I still feel a bit nostalgic when I read the Herald or think about SL. I like Second Life a lot but I hate what is happening here. I have heard the cries of the ‘end is near’ for a good while now and never paid them much attention. I had always thought that it was coming from people who just didn’t understand how complex a platform like Second Life would be to perfect.
Since then I have been noticing a new trend where LL has become increasingly bold, ignoring the outrage of it’s residents and further alienating them. They seem intent on assuring their own destruction by driving away their most loyal user base. It is such a shame that they are ruining something that could be so great.”

This blog is what sucks. Second Life (copyright/trademark/whatever goes here) is obviously the single greatest thing ever to happen to mankind. After only a few minutes inworld, it is apparent to any intelligent person that Second Life (insert copyright/trademark thingy here) is infinitely better than anything that could ever happen in Real Life/First Life (I don’t think that is owned yet. If you do own the copyright/trademark/whatever to our Real/First lives, please be aware that we will no longer be paying those membership dues).
Adult game players have always been properly despised by the normal (better than you) people of society and that should never change. However Second Life (you know what goes here) is not a game. It is the absolute most serious of business to Humans.
Your boss will say that you are crazy and your broker will claim you to be mad. Do not listen to the unrezzed. Your Avatar always knows just what is best for you. Sell the USD and hoard those Lindens (more copyrights/trademarks/etc belong here). Virtual land is the only true value and they can simply and cheaply make all that you want. If we need more Lindens (put the symbols here), we just tax the useless poor. Always crying about food and medicine. I was rezzed eleven days ago and have not had to eat even once.
Forget about going to the Moon again, don’t bother studying Mars. Second Life (how do you make those symbols!?) is the only life there is.

The Real Light (Photon)
I have recently seen the Light quite literally, and you were no small factor Neil. Everything from symbolism, to religion, to the real God (the photon wich is us!), to everything, and it goes on and on and on…

I am 39 and have been a follower of Rush for nearly all my life, yet never understood really the album covers, lyrics, none of it, I just knew they were good (literally). 4 Nights ago it all dawned on me from understanding the Photon. It all hit me so fast I kept checking myself to make sure I wasent completly crazy, but things just kept lining up much to easily.
Anyway, just wanted to say to you Neil thank you for bombarding my mind with the correct message. It only took me 39 yrs, but I now fully understand the big picture. Now all I have to do is re-learn everything. After the first 39, this is going to be a piece of cake.

Somehow I arrived @ this page through looking up the new artist/desiner of the Malignant Narcissist video for Rush because it says what I now understand. You are my first contact on this subject, and I want to say thank you for the response. Also, I would guess you already know, but the band Rush and more specifically Neil Peart has been aware of such things for quite sometime, and I guess this was just a general note to the cosmos acknowledging his assistance. This dosent make normal sense I know, but as I wrote earlier, for me, everything has changed. Know where I can find people that think like me in a rational setting? I would be very interested.
